Who are we

Pelat Press was founded by individuals from diverse backgrounds to address critical issues overlooked by mainstream media. We believe that understanding information today involves navigating complex layers of history and conflicts. Our name, Pelat Press, reflects the idea that we are all "pelat" (blurred or lost in translation) in our own ways. We aim to explore how history can be lost in translation and engage in meaningful conversations about it.

Why is this important…

As individuals from Southeast Asia, we recognize the importance of providing credible and thoroughly researched information and analysis about our homeland. In a global landscape where information is frequently shaped by dominant cultural viewpoints, we strive to make our voices heard, representing the unique perspectives of Asia and showcasing the rich diversity that our region has long embraced.

How did Pelat Press started…

Originating from a conversation between two friends who lacked common interests, our journey began with a shared commitment to exchanging thoughts and ideas in pursuit of deeper understanding, driven by an open mind. Now, we aim to extend this philosophy to others, inviting them to join us on this path of discovery.
